Sir William Alan Macpherson of Cluny and of Blairgowrie, is the 27th Chief of the Clan Macpherson, a former Scots Guards officer, High Court judge and a member of the Queen's Bodyguard for Scotland, the Royal Company of Archers. At Newton Castle, his ancestral home in Perthshire, he spoke with Bruce MacWilliam about his role as the head of one of the great Highland families. 52 Gladstone's Land. Between the lofty forbidding bulk of Edinburgh Castle at one end and the magnificent palaces of Holyroodhouse at the other, Edinburgh's High Street, the Royal Mile, contains many of the most famous buildings in Scotland.
