Welcome to The Scots Heritage website.  I am a fifth generation Australian and very proud to be so, but I am equally proud of my Scottish heritage.  Like so many Scottish families, mine emigrated from Scotland to find a new life in the New World.  Around 1880 William Cromarty emigrated from Wick, Caithness and settled in Melbourne, Australia.  I am fortunate in being able to trace my ancestors back to 1450.  I have travelled to Orkney twice now and visited both of the main Cromarty areas - South Ronaldsay and South Walls.  

My husband, Bruce Stannard, and I began SCOTS in 1998 because we believed that people of Scots descent around the world deserved a quality magazine which reflected not only Scotland's great beauty, history and traditions, but also her living heritage - her artisans and craftspeople, musicians and artists.  Now SCOTS is the largest circulation magazine of its kind in the world.  If you are not a subscriber, why not learn more about our 30 day Trial subscription offer.
